ITS YOUR MOVE – YOUTH ACTION!
Objectives of project:
Provide a platform for dialogue, empowerment and action amongst young men to prevent delinquency, abuse, violence and crime
Molo Songololo is a child rights organization striving to advance children’s rights to ensure their protection, development, survival and participation through education, training, advocacy and support services.
Its work include:
- Child rights and life-skills education workshops for children / young people
- Facilitate, network and support youth actions for social transformation
- Child participation in law and social policy reform, social actions and campaigns.
- Advocacy and lobby for the rights and protection of children / youth in difficult circumstances (child trafficking, child prostitution, child labour, etc.)
- Rescue, exit and recovery support for victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation
- Research, data collection and dissemination
- Public awareness and community mobilisation
It’s Your Move – Youth Action, is a network of pro-active young people between 13 and 18 years concerned with social transformation, facilitated by Molo Songololo to achieve the following for young people;
- Create dialogue, interaction, motivate and inspire to take responsibility
- Enhance right culture, life-skills, leadership and positive role-modeling
- Support, network and participate in public forums and social actions
- Promote behaviour change, positive decision making and life-strategies
The Young Men’s Forum, which forms part of the It’s Your Move initiative, is a programme developed by Molo Songololo to specifically meet the needs of young men at risk and to prevent;
- Abuse, violence and crime
- Substance abuse (alcohol & drugs)
- Delinquency and anti-social behaviour
